A launch event. Lights, music, a crowd of people holding phones. A robot steps forward.
The roast
So Unitree, a robot company, unveils its new humanoid, the H2-X. The promo video is pure action movie. It's kicking in car doors. It's lifting a car. This is a robot that walks into a room like it owes nobody money.
Then, one day after the unveiling, at its own launch event, in front of everyone, it does a side flip and loses a leg. Not "stumbles." Not "glitches." The leg leaves. The leg had other plans.
And I'll be honest, I felt seen. Because every dad has been this robot. You're at the trampoline park, your daughters are watching, and some voice in your head says, "Show them what Dad's still got." Next thing you know you're lying on a foam pit, staring at the ceiling, negotiating with your hamstring.
Here's what gets me. This thing was built to lift a car. A car. But nobody asked, "Can it do the one stunt we're about to film in front of the entire internet?" That's the most dad move a robot has ever made. All the power, none of the warm-up.
They say it's built for rescue missions. Great. Step one: rescue yourself. Step two: find the leg.

Next week on Bedtime Hustle…
Before you get hyped about the next "this changes everything" robot video, ask what happened in take two.
Step one: rescue yourself. Step two: find the leg.
